I think that Alomar will make it in the next two or three years, but not necessarily in 2010. His career ended with a thud and he's had some personal issues. He got traded several times as well, which might indicate that he wasn't as good a guy as he was a player. Larkin might take longer. He's between Derek Jeter (sure thing, first ballot) and Trammell (struggling at 15%). I think that the voters will put Dawson and Blyleven in this year. Lee Smith and Jack Morris will continue to wait, though they both might get in without help from the Veterans' Committee.
Was the first PBP voice heard on the network now known as Fox Sports Houston when it was HSE, the TV voice of the Houston Rockets at the time. Since then he has served as lead announcer for the Texas Rangers, jack of all trades for the Houston Astros including play by play, analysis, sideline commentator, pre/post game host and for both radio and TV. He is a play by play announcer for college basketball, baseball and football. Nearly 3000 different sporting events are on his resume from more than 25 sports. His career started at Butler University in his native Indiana and has included stops in Peoria, Honolulu, Buffalo and San Antonio. Greg was the radio announcer for the NBA Indiana Pacers and has the distinction of being the only regularly scheduled announcer for all three Texas NBA teams and both major league baseball teams at one time or another. Inducted into the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame in 1994, he has been the recipient of several honors over the years including "Tellys" for his play by play work with the Texas Rangers and his writing/co-producing of a special on Jerry Levias. Appeared in the movie "Glory Road" and was off screen voice in "Tyson"
